ODETTE BACHÉ
Odette Baché had a remarkable eye for emerging talent. Her taste, intuition, and instinct enabled her to discover young designers who would later become some of the leading fashion couturiers of the 1980s. Thierry Mugler, Claude Montana, Azzedine Alaïa, Jean-Paul Gaultier and France Andrevie all found one of their very first retail showcases at Biba. For more than twenty years, Biba served as a launchpad for fashion designers. It was the store where tomorrow’s couturiers were first discovered. Times have changed, and so has the way people relate to fashion. Luxury ready-to-wear has evolved, and today’s clients are often the daughters of yesterday’s clients. It was therefore only natural that Odette passed on her passion for fashion to her daughter, Yaël.
YAËL KOUPRIANOFF
Today, Biba is led by Yaël Kouprianoff. She was born into the world of fashion and inherited her mother’s taste, intuition, and passion. Over the years, she has learned to adapt to the desires and expectations of today’s women. She started young, at the age of twenty, bringing her own perspective and sensibility, and season after season, she has built and refined her collections. Today, Biba remains a landmark fashion destination, always in tune with the latest trends and contemporary style. Its collections are more accessible, with every piece designed to feel like a gift, an indulgence, a pleasure for both body and mind.
SARAH KOUPRIANOFF
After Odette, it is now Yaël who is passing on her passion for fashion to her daughter, Sarah. Following studies in fashion marketing and communication, Sarah has chosen to follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. She brings a fresh perspective and her own talent to Biba. Biba, a beautiful family story, built by women!
